Community Action Team Seeks Contestants for Long Beach Christmas Cookie Contest

Justin Rudd  Community Action Team Long Beach Christmas Cookie ContestAt 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2012, the annual Long Beach Christmas Cookie Contest private judging by the Los Angeles Times food editor, Russ Parsons; Press-Telegram columnist, Tim Grobaty; Santa Claus, and Miss Southern California Cities, Rachel Oblon; will take place beachfront behind red velvet ropes and underneath creamy white canopies. A bakers’ dozen of champions (13 winners) will each receive a blue ribbon, bragging rights, and a $20 bill for their favorite charities, schools or places of worship. There is no limit to entries from a baker, and entrants can win more than one recipe. Entry is free.  Presented by Justin Rudd! and his nonprofit Community Action Team (CAT). MAP

The morning also includes the monthly 30-Minute Beach Cleanup in the area, so those volunteers will be able to sample the cookies after the judging at the tasting reception.


  • Deliver cookies 9:30-10 a.m.
  • Private judging: 10-10:30 p.m.
  • 30-Minute Beach Cleanup: 10-10:30 a.m. (optional)
  • Tasting Reception/Awards: 10:40 a.m.
