On Wednesday, January 25, 2012, from 6:00 to 7:30 to p.m., the Neighborhood Resource Center will be hosting a workshop for Long Beach residents to learn about the Long Beach Police Department’s Community Watch Program at the Neighborhood Resource Center located at 425 Atlantic Avenue.

Community Watch is a crime prevention program that involves individual groups in the community working with the Police Department to affect crime. This workshop will inform residents about how to initiate Community Watch on their block to make our neighborhoods and the City of Long Beach a safer place to live.

Residents will have the opportunity to meet L.B.P.D. Patrol Division Commanders:

Commander John Benedetti – South Division
Commander Mike Beckman – East Division
Commander Galen Carroll – North Division
Commander Josef Levy – West Division

Patrol Division Police Services Specialists (PSS) assigned to coordinate the Community Watch Program will also be on hand to answer questions.

Attendees are invited to bring canned food to donate to Food Finders to assist our Long Beach neighbors during the current economic crisis.

This free workshop will be presented in English, with Spanish and Khmer translation available. Free parking is available behind the building and on the street. To R.S.V.P. or for more information call the Neighborhood Resource Center at (562) 570-1010.
