Cooking Class Pairs Local Olive Oil with Fresh Local Produce

On Wednesday, March 24th you can join Chef Aliye Aydin from beachgreens produce delivery as she prepares simple delicious dishes using fresh California olive oil and local produce that will leave you feeling full and satisfied, but won’t weigh you down.  These dishes are great for a weeknight meal, or dressed up for Easter Brunch! Menu to include: Tomato Toast with Sardines and Mint, Baby Artichokes Baked with Olive Oil and Goat Cheese, Arugula, Blood Orange and Bleu Cheese Salad, Spinach Frittata with Spring Onions and Sun-Dried Tomato, Almond Thumbprint Cookies.

This class is open to everyone, and is part of an ongoing collaboration between Deb and Phil Brooks, owners of the We Olive Store on 2nd Street, and beachgreens.

“It’s great having Aliye in the store featuring local foods with local olive oils. Each dish features an extra virgin olive oil and we taste the oil on by itself and then in the dish. It’s amazing to see how the fresh olive oil enhances the dishes,” says Brooks.

The class will be held from 7:00pm – 9:30pm and cost $40 per person. We Olive Store is located at 4725 E. 2nd Street, Suite C, Long Beach, CA. 90803.
