Amid the State Water Resources Control Board’s final action on emergency regulations designating an immediate 25 percent reduction in overall potable urban water use, and as Governor Brown calls for large fines on water wasters and for increased enforcement powers afforded to local jurisdictions, the City of Long Beach is leading by example through lawn removal and drought-tolerant landscape installations at locations synonymous with high water usage including fire stations.

Outgoing Long Beach Police Department East Division Commander Paul LeBaron Long Beach City Councilwoman Suzie Price, Third District, and Councilwoman Stacy Mungo, Fifth District, will be hosting a reception to honor outgoing Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) East Division Commander Paul LeBaron on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Gaslamp Restaurant.
Fifth District Councilwoman Stacy Mungo and Councilman Patrick O’Donnell, will extend the concerts at El Dorado Park two additional weeks, in partnership with We Love Long Beach and sponsors AeroPlex, Laborers’ Local 1309, and MetroPorts.

Carl Kemp is running for the Long Beach City Council seat in the 5th District. Former Long Beach City Councilmember Rae Gabelich announced her endorsement of Carl Kemp for City Council for the 5th District. Gabelich represented Long Beach’s 8th Council District for two terms.
Students grades 6-12 will race solar-powered model cars they have designed, powered only by the sun. Sixty-nine teams from 19 different schools and organizations in and around Long Beach will compete in the Fifth annual Solar Grand Prix hosted by Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske.
