Councilman Andrews and Others to Host Cambodia Town Blessing Ceremony

The Sixth District Councilman Dee Andrews and , Inc., will be hosting the Blessing Ceremony, from 8:30 to 10:00 A.M., on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Mark Twain Neighborhood Library,1401 E. Anaheim Street, Long Beach, CA 90813.

The blessing ceremony, a traditional Cambodian custom, will be held to bring good fortune to residents and business owners in the Cambodia Town and Cultural District. A blessing will be performed by the Sacred Dancers of Angkor, a troupe of 30 young dancers who specialize in sacred rituals.

The dance troupe, based in Cambodia, is currently touring the US for the very first time. The troupe’s tour includes performances in Boston, New York City, and Washington DC, before the dancers reach their final destination here, in Long Beach.
