Councilman Andrews and Cambodia Town Host 6th Annual Cambodia Town Culture Festival

Sixth District Councilman Dee Andrews and Cambodia Town, Inc, will co-host the 6th Annual Cambodia Town Culture Festival on Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 9:00am to 4:00pm, at MacArthur Park, 1321 E. Anaheim Street, Long Beach, CA.
Join Councilman Andrews and the Cambodian community as they celebrate the affluent traditions of Cambodia and ring in the Cambodian New Year, Year of Horse. The open air festival will have hands-on demonstrations of a variety of art forms from Cambodia’s rich and ancient culture. Local Cambodian artisans and culture bearers will share their expertise through interactive demonstrations. Among the arts and cultural exhibits on display will be Cambodian classical dance and costuming, drawing, shadow puppets, music, musical instruments, textiles, dressmaking, weddings, gardening, and cooking.
The cultural festival is cosponsored by Long Beach Councilmember Dee Andrews, Congressman Alan Lowenthal, Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe, Arts Council Long Beach, Cal State Dominguez Hills, and Cambodia Town, Inc. This year’s festival venue will also follow the ending of the Long Beach Cambodian New Year Parade on Anaheim Street. The event is free and open to the public.
