Sixth District Councilman Dee Andrews and Walgreens invites residents to the 10th Anniversary Re-Grand Opening of Walgreens, at 10:00 am, on Friday, September 30, 2011, located at 2627 Pacific Avenue, Long Beach, CA.

The drugstore chain Walgreens, located on the busy Pacific Avenue corridor, at the corner of Willow Avenue, is proud to have served the Long Beach residents for over 10 years. Residents, city and business leaders will be on hand to celebrate the 10th Anniversary and Re-Grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by an opportunity drawing for a snowboard donated by Pepsi and a $2 barbeque with the proceeds going to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. “I am so happy to see a thriving business in the 6th District. I appreciate all the support that Walgreens has given to our community and we look forward to many decades of service to come”, said Councilman Dee Andrews.

To commemorate its 10th Anniversary of serving the area community, the Walgreens location received a makeover and is ready to show it off. The renovation includes a new color scheme, updated and easier to read signage, color coded aisles, among other changes. They have also reorganized its stock, making items easier to find for customers and remodeled the shelves to display products at eye level. “Since we opened our doors on September 21, 2001, we have served almost 5 million customers at our Pacific and Willow Walgreens. In those 10 years, we have strived to be a good neighbor and to become part of the community. The community around our store has accepted us with open arms”, says Chad McAskill, Store Manager.

The event will include barbeque, hot dogs, face painting and balloon animals for the kids. Also, the store will have free blood pressure screenings and they will be giving a way 300 reusable bags, which include a 15% off coupon. Walgreens is open 24 hours and the pharmacy hours are 24 hours too. Walgreens is the nation’s largest drugstore chain, with 6,943 stores in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
