Councilman Dee Andrews To Host 6th District Budget Summit

The City of Long Beach and 6th District Councilman Dee Andrews are pleased to present the 6th District Budget Summit, Tuesday, August 31st, at Ernest S. McBride, Sr. Park.
Join Councilman Dee Andrews, Assistant City Manger Suzanne Frick, the Director of Financial Management Lori Ann Farrell, and your neighbors to discuss the 2011 City of Long Beach Budget.
Officials are projecting an $18.5 million general fund deficit in the next fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1, leaving a total general fund of $382 million. The general fund pays for core services such as police, firefighters, libraries, parks and recreation, and sidewalk and street repair. “I encourage residents to attend this meeting to voice their concerns, to listen and to be informed”, said Councilman Andrews. “This is your city, your money, and when it comes to the budget, I want to make sure that your voices are heard”, continued Andrews.
