Councilmember Al Austin will be hosting a Community Budget Meeting to inform residents and get input on the proposed 2014 City Budget.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, August 21, 6:30 PM at the Expo Arts Center, located at 4321 Atlantic Avenue.
“This Community Meeting will be an opportunity to hear first-hand from city management about the proposed budget and how it will affect city services. Residents will be able to ask questions and provide input on how the City should prioritize our resources,” said Councilmember Austin.
Representatives from Police, Fire, Parks and Recreation and Public Works departments will also be on hand to discuss the service levels in the proposed budget. The presentation will also include a discussion of how to invest $45 million in “one-time” revenues in the next fiscal year.
“Our fiscal outlook is much better than it has been for a long time. However, there are still difficult choices to make and priorities to decide,” Austin said.
