Assembly District 64 candidate and Long Beach City Councilmember Steve Neal announced today that his campaign has received the endorsement of the Compton Chamber of Commerce.

“I am honored to have received the endorsement of the Compton Chamber of Commerce in my campaign for Assembly District 64,” said Neal. “The chamber has an outstanding record of aiding the development of Compton and the surrounding community. As Assemblymember, I will continue to build public-private partnerships that spur economic growth as I have done on the Long Beach City Council.”

The Compton Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization devoted to assisting the development of Compton and its community. Chamber members work with the Employment Development Department, the Small Business Association, the Compton Career Link, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Gateway Chambers Alliance, and many other organizations to inform members of new programs and opportunities.

“As representative for the 64th Assembly District, I will bring all parties to the table to find solutions to the challenges we face. Having the support of the Compton Chamber of Commerce is another step in the right direction towards building a diverse coalition of business, labor, and community leaders I plan on working with as Assemblymember. I look forward to working with the Compton Chamber of Commerce to promote policies that will create living wage jobs in the 64th Assembly District.”

Steve Neal has been a community activist and leader in the Los Angeles area for decades. Since his election in 2010, Steve, a Compton native, has served North Long Beach on the Long Beach City Council where he has an accomplished record supporting neighborhoods, small businesses, and working families. Councilmember Neal is the author and creator of the Long Beach Foreclosure Registry Program, the Long Beach Liquor Store Modernization Program, and the North Long Beach Business Alliance. Neal is the Assistant Pastor of S.E.A.M. Faith Family Church and a longtime volunteer with the United Way.
