Councilmember Neal Invites Residents to Participate in Design Discussion For a New Fitness Park

Councilmember Steven Neal, Coalition for a Healthy North Long Beach, and Department of Parks, Recreations and Marine invite residents to participate in a design discussion for a new fitness park development in North Long Beach on Monday, October 22, 2012 at Houghton Park.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a discussion regarding the upcoming park project located in the Southern California Edison right of way, on Atlantic Avenue, north of the I-91 Freeway. The proposed project will be the first park development north of Artesia Blvd. in the city of Long Beach. The new park will feature exercise stations, jogging paths, and new California native landscaping.
The community will have the opportunity to provide input into the design and naming of the new park development. Residents will also have the opportunity to provide input on the proposed Myrtle Avenue bike boulevard.
The meeting is Monday, October 22, 2012 and begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. at Houghton Park 6301 Myrtle Avenue, Long Beach, CA. There will be dinner provided for those who participate. Interpretation is available upon request. To RSVP, please call 562-570-6137.
