Councilwoman Gonzalez Invites Community to 2nd Annual Dia de los Muertos Celebration

Councilwoman Lena Gonzalez invites the Long Beach community to attend the 2nd Annual Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Celebration in the First District on Pine Avenue on Saturday, November 7th from 5-10 PM. Pine will be closed off to traffic between 6th and 7th Street.
“Dia de los Muertos has become a much anticipated event that many people enjoy all over the world, and now we are bringing it back to Long Beach,” said Councilwoman Gonzalez. “I’m glad that families, residents and tourists can enjoy this new Downtown tradition of culture and music.”
This year’s featured activities include: live performances by Los Rakas, La Banda Skalavera, Very Be Careful, Casi Son, and DJ Ra; traditional folklorico dancers, face painters, decorated altars, food, arts and crafts, a kid zone and much more!
This event was made possible by the partnerships of Centro Cha, Inc. a local non-profit, the Port of Long Beach and Emissary Media Group.

Free two hour parking is located at City Place, the closest lots to the event are Lot A: 50 E. 6th Street (entrance on 6th and 5th Streets) or Lot B: 50 E. 5th Street (entrance on 5th and 4th Streets). Public transportation is highly encouraged.
