Councilwoman Price in conjunction with the City’s Safe Long Beach Violence Prevention Plan (Safe Long Beach) invite you to a family workshop on Bullying, Safety and Social Media on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at California State University, Long Beach. This free citywide event will focus on 5th through 8th grade students and their parents.

“I am so privileged to have Erin Runnion, Founder of The Joyful Child Foundation be our keynote speaker this year,” said Councilwoman Price. “She is committed to personal safety education and provides proactive education and empowerment tools for children and parents. She will be a wonderful addition to our 3rd Annual event.”

Our goals for this event are to offer parents an opportunity to learn about cyberspace and social media trends affecting our children, and for students to learn how to stay cyber safe and protect themselves from bullying.

This is a Safe Long Beach event. Adopted by the City Council in May 2014, Safe Long Beach addresses a broad safety agenda aimed at reducing all forms of violence, including domestic abuse, child abuse, elder abuse, hate crimes, bullying, gang violence, and violent crime. The Plan draws upon the City’s many existing assets to target violence at its root and attain the goal of building a safer Long Beach by 2020.

The Anti Bullying and Social Media Workshop is Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at CSULB, College of Business Administration Building, Room 140, 1250 Bellflower Blvd. Follow signs to Parking Lot 17
