Not all shelter pets will find homes for the holidays – but at least they’ll find warmth and comfort, thanks to the success of Petsguide Magazine’s first annual “Howls4Towels” donation drive.

From Nov. 15 – Dec. 15, Petsguide called on the community to help soften some of the budget impacts on shelter animals by donating basic supplies: towels, blankets, toys, food and leashes. More than 20 local pet businesses participated in the drive collecting over 200 pounds of goods.

On Tuesday, December 28 at 9:45 a.m., Cub Scout Pack 658 will parade a portion of the donated goods from the Petsguide office in Los Alamitos to the Long Beach Animal Control’s P.D. Pitchford Companion Animal Village. They will walk the .7 miles with their backpacks and wagons full of supplies.

“Howls4Towels” donations will be split among animal organizations in Long Beach metro and Orange County, including Downey’s SEACCA; Irvine Animal Care Center; and the Animal Assistance League of Orange County. (A complete list “Howls for Towels” recipients is listed at www.petsguidemagazine.com.)
