Cultural Alliance of Long Beach Sponsors Summer Workshops For Teens
2014-06-23 · By Editor
Beginning in July, The Cultural Alliance of Long Beach, or CALB, is sponsoring a limited number of summer activities for middle and high school youth. CALB is Long Beach’s premier arts collaborative with over 500 members. Since 2012, CALB has supported local artists by providing gallery space, workshops on grant writing, legal issues and marketing, and providing a place where artists can lead workshops and classes. In July, several members are leading creative and fun workshops for teenagers.
We have classes in drawing, calligraphy, card making, and beginning sculpture. Teenagers can also choose from several personal enrichment classes such as public speaking and media literacy. Every class is facilitated by a qualified and experienced CALB member or associate, and is held in the historic Bungalow Building on Pine Avenue.
In addition to activities for youth, CALB also sponsors adult activities such as open mics, art classes for adults, concerts and art openings. CALB is also a major participant in the 3rd Friday Twilight Walk on Pine Ave. You can also find us at the 2nd Saturday Art Walk, and 2nd Sunday in the Virginia Village.
CALB is located in downtown Long Beach at 729 Pine Ave. Classes are scheduled weekly, at day and evening times. Please bookmark our website since new classes will be added throughout the month. This program ends August 1. Early registration is encouraged. www.calbarts.org or firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
