Detectives Investigate Murder of Long Beach Man

Murder investigationOn Sunday, September 18, 2011 at approximately 8:20 p.m., officers from the Long Beach Police Department responded to a call that shots had been fired in 2300 block of Locust Avenue that resulted in the death of an adult male.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a group of males were standing on the sidewalk when an unknown suspect shot at them. One victim was struck in the upper body and transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has been identified as Tony Calloway, a 21-year-old Long Beach resident.
