Detectives seek information in homicide investigation

On Sunday, June 27, 2010, at approximately 6:25 a.m., officers from the Long Beach Police Department responded to the 1400 block of Gaviota Avenue regarding a shooting call that resulted in the death of a male juvenile.
When officers arrived at the location, they discovered the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. The victim was transported by Long Beach Fire Department paramedics to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries, and was later pronounced deceased.
The victim has been identified as 15-year-old Brian Balderrama a resident of Long Beach. There is no suspect information available, and a motive for the shooting is unknown. However, the shooting is being investigated as possibly gang-related.
