Entangled Entertainment in partnership with One Take Films is pleased to announce a special screening of their latest drama, “Ditch Party”, at the AMC Marina Pacifica 12 on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach on Thursday, August 20 at 8:30 pm. The film has a strong anti-bullying message and parents are invited to bring their teens to enjoy the film and participate in a brief thirty minute Q and A afterwards with a noted psychologist to discuss this important social topic.
The screenplay was written by long time Long Beach resident, Richard Meese, and directed by Rocky Costanzo of Huntington Beach. It is also the first film produced by Noel G who starred in Fast and Furious 7 and Training Day.
“I wrote this film to bring attention to a form of teen bullying that is seldom discussed; the humiliation of being ignored and rejected by your peers,” stated Meese. “The emotional trauma from this form of teen bullying can be even more devastating than physical abuse. Half of all teen suicides come from this form of bullying.”
“Ditch Party” is the story of five teenagers trapped in a room during a school shooting who are forced to overcome serious cultural and economic differences in order to survive. In addition to Noel G, the film stars Daeg Faerch (Rob Zombie’s Halloween), Darian Weiss (Mad Men) and Long Beach resident, Dee Dee Rescher (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off). The film was shot entirely in the LA area with most of the action sequences taking place at Firebaugh High School in Lynwood.
