DLBA - Downtown Long Beach Associates

The Downtown Long Beach Associates (DLBA) invites residential and commercial property owners and business owners in Downtown Long Beach interested in making a difference in their community to apply for a seat on the DLBA Board of Directors. This year, there are five open seats available to applicants.

“Along with my colleagues on the Board of Directors, we welcome local stakeholders to apply for one of these open seats,” shared Richard Lewis, DLBA Chair-Elect, who also serves as Chair of the Board Development Committee (BDC). “We are excited to hear the fresh perspectives of new leaders interested in making a positive impact on the Downtown.”

Candidates complete a short application and submit a biography to be considered for a two-year term on the board. Following these submittals, applicants are invited to interview with the BDC, who recommends a slate of candidates to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors before asking DLBA stakeholders to ratify with a mail-in process.

“From our economic development efforts, to the clean and safe programs, to the special events and marketing endeavors, the DLBA has a significant impact on the vibrancy of Downtown Long Beach,” added Lewis. “We look forward to enhancing our Board with new leaders and building on this great momentum we have been fortunate to experience.”

To access an application, interested parties are invited to visithttp://www.downtownlongbeach.org/board2013 to learn more about the open seats and Directors roles and responsibilities. Applications are due by June 21, 2013 and members of the community with questions are welcome to call the DLBA offices at 562.436.4259.
