Early Morning Argument Leads to Arrest of Woman For Manslaughter

On Sunday, October 14, 2012, at approximately 1:37 a.m., officers from the Long Beach Police Department were called to assist Long Beach Fire Department paramedics with a deceased adult male lying in the roadway on the 200 block of Termino Avenue, who was later determined to be the victim of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian traffic fatality.
The investigation revealed that prior to the call, a man and a woman were involved in a verbal altercation at the scene. The female attempted to leave the area in her vehicle, a 2005 Mercedes E500, and collided with the male subject who was in the street.
The female was arrested for driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter. Due to the ongoing investigation, at this time she is only being identified as a 40-year-old resident of Hacienda Heights.
The male subject was determined to be deceased at the scene, and is only being identified as a 49-year-old resident of Long Beach, pending notification to his family.
