long beach street repair projectDue to adverse weather conditions forecast for this weekend, the planned closure for repaving of eastbound Ocean Boulevard from the I-710 connectors to the L.A. River November 16-19 has been postponed. Traffic on the Gerald Desmond Bridge and the ramps to and from Pico Avenue will not be diverted.

The first phase of the project has been rescheduled for November 30-December 3. This closure will be the first of three weekend closures that will continue on December 14-17 and December 21-24 as the crews complete the pavement improvement project from the foot of the Desmond Bridge to the L.A. River west of downtown Long Beach.

The Port of Long Beach is committed to keeping Harbor District roadways maintained in good condition and committed to minimizing the impacts of construction on motorists and businesses.

The weekend closures were selected to reduce the impact on commuter traffic. Work will generally start Fridays at 10 p.m. and finish by 5 a.m. Mondays. Throughout the closures, signs will guide motorists to detours.
