Eggs Etc.: Making Breakfast Special

share this:

Ah, Long Beach breakfast joints! They are well received, always popular and the wait is frequently long and drawn out. So, like I have said before, I like to frequent them on weekdays when things are a bit quieter.

Eggs Etc. was a restaurant I had driven by a hundred times, and I always wanted to give it a shot.  Now that I have a little one tagging along, restaurants can be intimidating, particularly if they are too quiet. The dull roar in Eggs Etc was just what I needed to avoid the “new mom melt down” when your baby starts crying and there is literally, nothing you can do about it, except avoid eye contact with your fellow diners as they look at you in annoyance.

First off, the wait staff is awesome. They were really cool about the huge car seat I lugged the baby in, they were friendly, and considerate. Secondly, the food was awesome and one of the coolest things about this place is that they have so many items that are not on the menu. I love a place with a good special to try out.  During the warmer months, the patio is a great place to chill out in the sun, watch the cars pass by and enjoy your morning. The interior is “casual diner” in style and exactly what you would expect.

I was being “good” and ordered the Turkey Scramble…but in a moment of weakness, we decided to split some French toast in addition. It really was hard to pass up. And I am glad we did partake in it, as it was rich, gooey and perfect in every way. The turkey scramble was also delicious, healthy and fresh. All of their food is served on Fiestaware plates, something that didn’t go unnoticed by us. I love the feel and look of the stoneware and have always been a fan!

We did not have to wait to grab a table and the service, like I said before, was really great. The price was moderate as well, and because of the friendly atmosphere, I would definitely recommend a casual breakfast here any time.

Eggs Etc is located at 550 Redondo Ave, Long Beach 90814. Their phone number is (562) 433-9588
