Join El Dorado Nature Center and the City of Long Beach for the 30th annual California Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 20 from 9:00 – noon. This is the largest volunteer event in the state and a great way for you to make a difference in your community. Last year over 1,000 volunteers removed nearly two tons of trash in only three hours. This year we have five sites in Long Beach: Alamitos Bay Marina, Alamitos Beach, Belmont Pier, Bluff Park, and Mother’s Beach.

Participation is easy. All you need to do is show up on the day of the event and sign in at any of our sites. Bags and gloves will be available at each site and parking is free for the duration of the event

We encourage everyone to “BYO,” or “Bring Your Own”. Our goal is to “Reduce” the amount of supplies we use and trash we create. “Reuse” a bag or bucket and an old pair of work gloves to pick up trash with. Kids can bring their sand pails and shovels to help clean the beach, too!

Please visit http://www.longbeach.gov/naturecenter/volunteer_.asp for more information. Or call Brooke Davis at (562) 570-4876. We hope to see you on the 20th!
