“FAMILY AFFAIR” Actress, Kathy Garver to Appear at The Filmmakers’ Gallery for Book Signing Today

Long Beach Native Kathy Garver will be appearing at The Filmmakers’ Gallery on Wednesday, December 2nd from 6-9pm, to sign copies of her new book Surviving Cissy: My Family Affair of Life in Hollywood.

Garver starred in the hit, EMMY-Award winning series Family Affair for its entire 5-season run in the late 1960’s – early 1970’s. She played the oldest of three siblings being raised by her Uncle Bill – played by Brian Keith, and his butler Mr. French – Played by British actor Sebastian Cabot. An accomplished actress and author, Kathy attended London’s prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and holds a Master’s Degree in Theatre Arts from UCLA.

Kathy Garver was spotted by the legendary director/producer Cecil B. DeMille in the crowd of extras while shooting his Academy Award-winning blockbuster The Ten Commandments (1956). DeMille was so smitten with Kathy – that he wrote dialog and created a scene with Charlton Heston just for her!
