As usual there is a lot to see and do at the market. Persimmons are bountiful, the cauliflower looks amazing, strawberries to make jam and crisp apples to snack on.
Here are the special events this week at the Long Beach Sunday Market: a cookie contest, Santa, Chess Club and holiday shopping. See below for all the details.
Cookie Contest! Drop off your entry by 9am and see how your treasured cookie recipe holds up to the competition. Bring 1 dozen cookies and your recipe to enter.
Santa is Coming to Town! Have a toddler or teenager just dying to put in a last minute request? Tell our friendly Santa what you’re wishing for. And if Mom was wishing she had a snapshot for the memory book-bring your own camera and capture the moment for free!
Chess Club is offered weekly from 10a-12n, grab a game or three of chess with enthusiasts from Project Oasis. Workshops after will be available in the New Year.
Are there a few last minute gift buying on your agenda this Sunday? There will be plenty of terrific items from the farmers, crafters and even crafts kits to choose from.
