Feugo’s Mixology Class Takes on Sangria Saturday

Ready, set, Sangria! Sangria! It’s time to set your sights on summer with Fuego’s famous mixology classes, now offering Sangria! Sangria! in Fuego at Hotel Maya on Saturday, May 16 from 3-5 p.m. Sangria! Sangria! is part of Hotel Maya’s 2015 Latin-Inspired Culinary and Mixology Classes series.
Guests will study the history of the Spanish concoction while sipping a variety of sangrias including Raspberry Peach Lime with white wine, muddled raspberries, raspberry and peach grand mariner, and squeezed lime; A Splash of This and A Splash of That with red wine, Ketel 1, orange, grand mariner, splash of orange juice, and pineapple juice; Tequila Sunrise with Peligroso tequila, muddled pineapple, orange, blackberries, lime, elderflower liquor and orange juice; and Classic Red Sangria and Classic White Sangria.
Fuego mixologists will lead the Sangria! Sangria! class, which is $30 per person and limited to 30 guests.

Sangria!,” said Kristi Allen, Vice President of Hotel Operations at Hotel Maya. “Guests continue to learn more about Latin culture through Fuego’s culinary and mixology classes while enjoying the fresh fare and lively libations, along with the waterfront views and unbeatable weather.”
Upcoming Fuego Culinary and Mixology Classes are scheduled for July, September and November featuring:
- Ceviche Fresco, Culinary Class, Saturday, July 25, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guests will learn to prepare this light and refreshing summer dish and lunch.
- Latin Triple Shots with The Caipirinha, The Mojito and The Pina Colada, Mixology Class, Saturday, September 26, 3-5 p.m. Guests will lean into late summer by learning about three delicious rum drinks that highlight Brazil, Cuba and Puerto Rico.
- Guacamole de Fuego, Culinary Class, Saturday, November 14, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fuego guests will celebrate the holiday and football seasons with this fan favorite along with lunch.
Don Julio Tequila Mixologists led the Margarita Classico class in April. Executive Chef Victor Juarez led the Mayan Chocolate for Couples culinary class on Valentine’s Day in February.
Fuego, the modern, Latin-infused indoor-outdoor restaurant and lounge, offers a unique seaside setting featuring 13-foot-tall glass walls that fully retract with seating inside and on the patio area. Fuego’s stunning open-air views include the Pacific Ocean, Long Beach skyline and Queen Mary.
