Longfellow Legacy Foundation: First Cinco de Mayo Golf Tournament Gets Set to Tee Off
2009-04-29 · By Editor
The Longfellow Legacy Foundation is hosting the inaugural Cinco de Mayo Golf Tournament at Skylinks Golf park in Long Beach on Tuesday May 5th. Entry includes lunch on the course, putting contest, prize pool, dinner and auction immediately following conclusion of golf.
Come golf with Willie Gault, Olympic Bronze medalist in the 1980 Olympic boycott games and 1985 Super Bowl Champion with the Chicago Bears. All proceeds from the Tournament will be used by Longfellow Legacy Foundation to support vital programs at Longfellow Elementary School, our neighborhood public elementary school.
No doubt Long Beach residents are aware of the financial crisis facing public schools in LBUSD and the state of California. Longfellow Elementary’s situation is no different and, in fact, this past year the school also lost its Title I funding, leaving the school in a dire budgetary situation. Invaluable programs already have been cut and more losses are imminent.
If you’d like to be a part of this inaugural event, Golf Tournament sponsorship are available. Platinum sponsorship is $5,000, Gold is $2,500 and Silver is $1,000; we also offer Hole Sponsorships at $100 per hole. (Your company name and logo will be on display at your sponsored hole.)
Make your online reservation to join in the Cinco de Mayo Tournament or download and fax a Sponsorship form. Green fees are $400 for a foursome or $150 per person. Check-in at 10:00 am, Shotgun start at 12:00 pm. Putting contest begins at 11:00 am.
The Cinco de Mayo Golf Tournament is also seeking donated items for the silent and/or live auctions. The auctions will be held at the post-tournament dinner. In return for a donation, auction sponsors will receive benefits such as posting on and linkage from our website, a listing in materials sent to the more than 600 Longfellow Elementary families, and recognition in the Longfellow Legacy Foundation Cinco de Mayo Golf Tournament Sponsor booklet. For information on how to donate download this form.
