First Fridays Gets Jazzy For September

Attention all cool cats, beatniks, and boppers…First Fridays goes “All That Jazz” on September 6th. Can you dig? So take five and get in the mood for jazz sounds from Dixieland to Bebop.
Enjoy: Live art and interactive art activities, local jazz greats Majic Bullet Theory at the BKBIA office, Elvis and classic cars, photo ops, classic rock, politicos, break dancers, goats and chickens, s ’mores station, jazz hands, Cinco and his free High Fives, the Knolls Ranger, free books, gift items, antiques, the Big Red Bus, and plenty of the unexpected.
- Major jazz showcase at the platforms of 3939 Atlantic Avenue featuring the IAN Band and Scott Martin.
- Expo Arts Center features the exhibit by Arts & Services for the Disabled, CORE 9.
- When the sun goes down, Nino’s Italian Restaurant & Digital Installers will host a big screen projection of a special themed movie
7th District Councilmember James Johnson’s “First Books at First Fridays” at the Dana Branch Library will features guest reader and author Aaron L. Day starting at 5:30pm.
8th District Councilmember Al Austin’s “Council on Your Corner” will be set up at Atlantic & Burlinghall to meet and greet attendees.
Stop by Bella Cosa (3803 Atlantic) from 6:30pm – 8:00pm to find all the information about First Fridays, business info, and restaurant recommendations.
When the businesses start to close, “First Fridays After Hours” begins. Nino’s Italian Restaurant, The Factory, Willmore, and EJ Malloy’s go late into the night with food, drinks, and music. Why go home early? Stay out late and continue the energy.
