Veterans, if you are recently separated from active duty or if you served years ago, the Pacific Gateway Workforce Investment Network can assist you with variety of no-cost services.
“The Networks’ veteran program specialists are veterans themselves, so they understand the difficulties veterans sometimes face,” said Bryan Rogers, the Network’s Executive Director. “ We encourage veterans, or those who know a veteran, to find out how the Network can assist with employment, training and other services.”
Each month a workshop, tailored for veterans, provides information about training opportunities through the Workforce Investment Network as well as current programs, benefits and health services available. The next information meeting is Thursday, November 19 from 9:00 a.m.
Career-training services available for veterans include:
- guidance transitioning from military to civilian employment
- job placement assistance
- vocational and skills training
- educational benefits
- on-the-job training
Interested individuals can watch a video featuring veterans and the Network’s program specialists or read about the Network’s veteran services by visiting www.PacificGatewayWorkforce.com and clicking on “Calling All Veterans” under “Announcements.” You can also find the locations of the Network’s four One Stop Career Centers that are nearest to you.
The public is invited to a free workshop on the Network’s services for veterans on Thursday, November 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
