On Wednesday, September 14th, 2011, Fresh & Easy opened a new store on Atlantic Avenue in Long Beach’s 7th District. With this opening, along with a new store opening downtown at Promenade & 5th Street in the City Place Center, Fresh & Easy doubled the number of stores it has in Long Beach and created more than 50 jobs in the community.

“We’re excited to continue opening stores and hiring in the Long Beach area,” said Fresh & Easy CEO Tim Mason. “We hope to build on the great relationship we’ve had with the community for the past several years by continuing to be good neighbors and bringing new, good jobs and providing wholesome, affordable food for the city.”

Located at 3300 Atlantic Ave., on the corner of Atlantic Ave. and 33rd St., this new store will provide a friendly and inviting entrance to the Cal Heights/Bixby neighborhoods. This is one of many efforts in reviving the southern end of, and unifying the Bixby Knolls business corridor.

For each new store opening, Fresh & Easy invites neighbors to nominate a local, non-profit organization to receive a $1,000 donation. Based off the nominations from the neighborhood, the new Fresh & Easy selected For the Child, an organization dedicated to fighting child abuse.

“I want to thank Fresh and Easy for being part of the continued revitalization of the Atlantic corridor,” Councilmember Johnson said. “Fresh & Easy has shown their commitment to being a good corporate citizen through programs in which they give back to the community, and I am pleased to welcome them to the neighborhood.”
