Friends of Bixby Park Presents First Annual “Art Under Umbrellas” Exhibition July 14th

Long Beach art lovers and residents will gather around Bixby Park Bandshell for Friends of Bixby Park’s First Annual “Art Under Umbrellas” exhibition and fundraiser on Saturday, July 14th from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The exhibition will feature artworks by some 20 local artists in a colorful and whimsical setting. Musical entertainment will be provided by indie rock band, Sympathetic Frequencies throughout the day. Snacks and refreshments, sponsored by OnBroadway businesses, will be available. Art work on display will be sold to the public. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Friends of Bixby Park’s Parcel 1 Renovation Project, slated to begin later this year. Bixby Park is located on the corner of 1st and Junipero Streets in Long Beach-between Broadway Ave. and Ocean Ave.
Bixby Park Preservation’s mission is to preserve the historic integrity of Bixby Park, while providing the necessary restorations and beatification to make the park desirable place for residents and visitors. Bixby Park Preservation is partnered with Long Beach Neighborhood Foundation, a non-profit entity that provides support for local youth and neighborhoods.
