Fuego Offers St. Patrick’s Day Brunch With a Latin Twist

The luck of the Irish can be found at this modern, Latin infused indoor-outdoor restaurant and lounge at Hotel Maya as Fuego presents a variety of Irish themed and traditional dishes for its St. Patrick’s Day Brunch on Sunday, March 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Fuego offers a unique setting at the water’s edge featuring 13-foot-tall glass walls that fully retract with seating inside and on the patio area. Fuego’s stunning open-air views include the Pacific Ocean, Long Beach skyline and the Queen Mary.

“On St. Patrick’s Day in Fuego we say, ‘fortunam hibernicis,’ which is Latin for ‘Irish luck’” said Kristi Allen, General Manager at Hotel Maya – a Doubletree by Hilton. “And Fuego’s guests will have a wonderful time celebrating the luck of the Irish in a unique Latin way with a variety of food and drink specials.”

Executive Chef Victor Juarez’s St. Patrick’s Day brunch begins with the Chef’s Selection of Salads including Roasted Beet salad with peppers escabeche, Cotija Cheese and Pepita, Chipotle Caesar salad, Butternut Squash and Sweet Potato salad, Smoked Salmon and accompaniments, cheese and charcuterie display, and sliced fresh fruit platter.

Irish eyes will be smiling on the Ceviche Fuego featuring shrimp, chipotle, Mahi Mahi, sweet onion pickled, orange, papaya, scallops, sweet onion, orange, and pickled jalapeno.

The Fuego Taco Fiesta includes a fresh selection of Cilantro Jalapeno Grilled Skirt Steak, Tequila Lime Chicken and Seafood tacos, along with mini quesadillas and fresh homemade salsas.

St. Patrick’s Day Hot Entrées are ordered from the server and include the choice of Fuego Eggs Benedict with two poached eggs, sautéed spinach, applewood smoked bacon, English muffins, hollandaise, broiled tomato and hash browns; Weekend Fried Up with fried eggs, bacon, chicken apple sausage, sauté mushrooms, tomato and spread toast; Smoked Brisket, a classic Irish American dish with creamy chile slaw, potato, pickled onion, and avocado; Irish Lamb Stew with braised lamb stew, potatoes, carrots and herbs; Chile Relleno with tempura stuffed poblano pepper with four cheeses, fire roasted tomato sauce, cilantro green rice, and refried beans; Salmon Fillet with pan seared salmon, capers, raisin and caper butter sauce, grilled cabbage, carrots, and green steamed rice; Chicken Poblano Green Mole with poached chicken breast, green mole, steamed rice, pepper escabeche, and roasted vegetables; or Maine Lobster Tail with a 10-ounce Maine lobster tail, Meyer lemon buerre blanc, sautéed wild mushroom, cilantro green rice, black beans and roasted vegetables (Maine Lobster Tail includes a $10 supplement).

Delicious Desserts include an assortment of festive mini breakfast pastries, Irish soda bread, along with St. Patrick’s mini desserts featuring coconut rum flan with caramel sauce, assorted mini cakes, vanilla raisin bread pudding, cinnamon-sugar churros with cajeta caramel sauce and chocolate fondue.

For an additional $10, guests will enjoy endless sparkling wine or mimosas. Complimentary glass of sparkling wine or cider, coffee, decaffeinated coffee, tea, juice or soft drinks will be served.

Fuego’s St. Patrick’s Day Brunch costs $37.00 per adult and children, 13 and older; $18.50 for children, 12 and under; plus tax and gratuity. An 18 percent gratuity will be added to parties of six or more.
