Fuego’s Culinary Classes Continue With Ceviche Fresco

A cool way to enjoy the hot fun of summer is with Fuego’s homemade Ceviches during Ceviche Fresco, the Latin culinary class at Hotel Maya on Saturday, July 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“The Ceviche Fresco class is a fun summer culinary experience that provides one-on-one time with Chef Juarez,” said Kristi Allen, Vice President of Hotel Operations at Hotel Maya.  “Together with Fuego’s delicious lunch and unforgettable views, guests are sure to have a terrific experience in Fuego’s waterfront classroom and al fresco dining.” 

Executive Chef Victor Juarez will show guests how to prepare three low fat, high protein fresh fish dishes that are sumptuous summer treats and easy to make at home. Guests will learn to prepare this light and refreshing summer dish that will culminate in a three-course lunch. The Ceviche Fresco class is $30 per person and is limited to 30 guests.

The Ceviche Fresco culinary class features Mercado-Steamed Shrimp with chipotle, jicama, green onion, avocado, and topped with corn tortilla chips; Scallops and Calamari-Lime with orange, habanero, jicama, cucumber, scallions and cilantro; and El Atun-Ahi Tuna with aji panca, avocado, mango, ginger and pineapple mojo.

Upcoming Fuego Culinary and Mixology Classes are scheduled for September and November and include:

  • Latin Triple Shots with The Caipirinha, The Mojito and The Pina Colada, Mixology Class, Saturday, September 26, 3-5 p.m. Guests will lean into late summer by learning about three delicious rum drinks that highlight Brazil, Cuba and Puerto Rico.
  • Guacamole de Fuego, Culinary Class, Saturday, November 14, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fuego guests will celebrate the holiday and football seasons with this fan favorite along with lunch.

Fuego restaurant is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Fuego lounge is open daily at 11 a.m. For reservations, which are strongly encouraged, call 562-481-3910.
