Party At The Pike Kicks Off Fundraising Efforts For Breast & Ovarian Cancer
2011-07-08 · By Editor
Now entering their 7th consecutive fundraising season, Team Tough Titties is ramping up fundraising efforts in preparation for this fall’s Team Spirit Breast & Ovarian Cancer 10K Walk, beginning with a night of cocktails, coozies, cookies and more at the Pike Restaurant & Bar in Long Beach on Saturday, July 16.
The first in a series of events aimed at raising money and awareness about breast and ovarian cancer in honor of those among us who are fighting, surviving or have lost their battle, the Team Tough Titties Kick-Off Party will feature team co-captain DJ Elle Jay joined by Professor B-Rad–making his triumphant return to the Pike for one night only!–spinning soul, funk, garage and pop-punk, as well a super-sweet bake sale and complimentary frozen treats courtesy of the Ice Cream Man. Roaming photos will be provided by PhotoGraffiti.
As a bonus, for just $5 attendees can enjoy the evening’s signature–and mighty stiff–cocktail, the Tough Titty, concocted by the Pike’s superior bar staff and served in a Team Tough Titties beer coozie.
The evening will be capped off by a raffle including prizes from American Beauty Tattoo, Salon Pop & Barber Shop, 4th Street Vine, Naples Fitness, Goldenvoice, Too Faced Cosmetics and the Pike Restaurant & Bar. On-site registration for the Team Spirit Breast & Ovarian Cancer 10K Walk will also be available for those interested in joining the team.

About Team Tough Titties Founded in 2004 in celebration of the survivors in their lives, Team Tough Titties is proud of its fundraising track record. As previous participants in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, the team has raised over $75,000 for the fight against breast cancer and since refocusing its efforts on Long Beach’s Team Spirit Breast & Ovarian Cancer 10K in 2010, it plans on raising even more!
About the Team Spirit Breast & Ovarian Cancer 10K Now in its 11th year of providing support for as well as awareness about the treatment, research and emotional well-being of breast and ovarian cancer patients and survivors in the greater Long Beach community, Team Spirit donates 100% of the proceeds from each year’s event to the Long Beach Memorial Medical Center Foundation. This money funds support groups, treatment and clinical research at Memorial Medical Center, one of the top hospitals in the nation. Memorial Medical Center Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) organization, Federal ID #95-610598. All donations are tax deductible.
