St. Mary Medical Center Geriatric Clinic opens at LB Senior Center

The 4th Street St. Mary Medical Center Clinic recently opened its doors in the Long Beach Senior Center to provide free to low cost medical services to local seniors.

The clinic’s physicians and care team is dedicated to treating illnesses and promoting healthy lifestyles, education, and preventive care for older adults. These services are available to men and women over the age of 55, encompassing specialty care in the fields of Geriatrics, Dentistry, Ophthalmology,  Endocrinology, Pulmonary, Rheumatology, and Podiatry. Pharmacy consultations are available to assist seniors with understanding their medications.

Every Wednesday from 9:30 – 11:30 am, the clinic offers a lecture and/or a free screening. Screenings rotate and include blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, body mass index, orthopedics, and fall and balance.

St. Mary Medical Center Clinic offers internal medicine and geriatric services Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the Long Beach Senior Center at 1150 East 4th Street.

Since April of 2009, the Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine has partnered with St. Mary Medical Center, a subsidiary of Catholic Healthcare West, for a physician-based ambulatory healthcare clinic in the same space formerly occupied by The Department of Health and Human Services. The services provided by St. Mary Medical Center are a significant increase to those previously provided.
