A Night at the Toy Shoppe rings in the season with song

night-at-toy-shoppeOn Sunday, December 13, spend a magical afternoon with the Golden Sands Chorus. The choir will awaken the “child in all of us” with their newest musical production, a Night at the Toy Shoppe.

Under the direction of Master Director Linda Kelly,this 50-member chorus will thrill the audience with a cappella harmonies and clever costumery. The poignant tale will feature entertainment from several special guest performers including The Perfect Gentlemen, On-Tap, High-Tide, Sunshine, Mira Costa Muscle and Coterie.

A Night at the Toy Shoppe takes the stage on Sunday, December 13 at 3 p.m., but guests are encouraged to come early for a special outdoor puppet show at 2:30 p.m. presented by Jim Gamble Puppet Productions.

Performances of A Night at the Toy Shoppe take place at the Lakewood High School auditorium, 4400 Briercrest Avenue in Lakewood. Tickets cost $15. One child under 12 will be admitted free with each paid adult. A portion of the proceeds will benefit WomenShelter of Long Beach.

The Golden Sands Chorus of Long Beach is a chapter of Sweet Adelines, International, a membership organization of female singers, who meet regularly to practice, perform and socialize. The chorus includes more than 50 singers of all ages and all walks of life. The chorus sings at annual shows, community events, competitions and is also available for hire.
