Use Google Maps to plan trips on Long Beach Transit

People planning driving directions on Google Maps have a public transit option available in the greater Long Beach area, thanks to easy automated Long Beach Transit trip planning now available.
Much like the trip planner available on www.lbtransit.com, Google Transit provides easy transit trip planning when visiting www.maps.google.com. Directions include walking to a specified bus stop, which route to take, where to get off the bus and walking directions to a final destination. One-way fare and driving cost are also displayed for comparison.
“We welcome this new product that encourages the use of public transit, and believe our customers will find this tool very helpful to plan their transit needs,” said Renee Simon, Chair, Long Beach Transit Board of Directors.
The integration of Long Beach Transit information into Google Maps will also make it easy for residents planning trips to downtown or special events when parking is at a premium.
Transit planning information is also accessible by cellular phones (such as iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, S60, and other Java enabled phones), so Long Beach Transit is now available at people’s fingertips no matter where they are.
Long Beach Transit serves over 29 million boarding customers in Long Beach, Lakewood and Signal Hill—as well as portions of Artesia, Bellflower, Carson, Cerritos, Compton, Hawaiian Gardens, Norwalk, Paramount and Seal Beach—with regular bus and shuttle services including the Passport, AquaBus, and AquaLink.
