Long Beach Grand Event Center Undergoes $1/2 Million Remodel

$500,000 remodelChoura Events, Long Beach’s only integrated events company, has transformed its premier venue, The Grand Event Center, to a rich and refreshing environment following a January 2011 remodel. The remodel was prompted by an increase in event business in Long Beach. An anticipated 40% increase in event and hospitality dollars is estimated to be spent in Long Beach in 2013. The Grand is Long Beach’s premier, and long-standing, venue of choice for a wide cross-section of events across Southern California and the remodel provides a new, cost-efficient opportunity for the influx of events.

Don Foster of Canvas Back Design helped to craft the new landscape in each of the main rooms: the Grand Ballroom, the Palm Terrace, the Catalina Room, the Board Room, and the Pacific Room. Major updates to the rooms, which have not occurred since 2008, included new carpet, stone work, valances, lighting and paint. The Palm Terrace is currently undergoing additional upgrades including fire pits, water features, cabana-style areas with lounge furniture and foliage.
