Calling all Pink Ladies, T-Birds and Beauty School Dropouts, for a summer night filled with fun, singing, dancing, and a little hand jive, Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske is hosting the movie Grease with Sing-a-Long subtitles at El Dorado Park on Friday, September 6th from 5-9 pm.

The free event will include Best Costume prizes for adults and children, a men’s stylist creating Pompadours, and a stylist to create 50’s women’s hairdo’s. A variety of food, including the Grilled Cheese Truck are scheduled for the event. Costume contest and hair styling will begin at 5 pm while popular 50’s music will help transport the audience to the memorable era in American culture. The movie will begin at sundown.

“Grease, the Sing-a-Long is a great way to end the summer and celebrate going back to school. Audiences really get into the singing and dance along with the music,” commented Councilwoman Schipske, “It’s a great way for the community to have fun together. I look forward to seeing all the great hairdos, costumes, and singing.”

The original movie Grease is celebrating its 35th anniversary, and the American movie classic has become more popular recently with community celebrations where the Sing-a-Long movie has been shown. The event, free and open to the public is expected to be crowded, so attendees are encouraged to arrive early to get a good spot in the park at the corner of Willow/Studebaker.
