green-port-festDon’t miss the 6th Annual Green Port Fest this Saturday, October 2, 2010, a free event hosted by the Port of Long Beach.

Free parking will be provided by the Long Beach Convention Center in the large open air lot by E. Shoreline Drive. Entrance is on S. Linden Avenue. Click here for map. Attendees are encouraged to carpool, bike or ride city buses.

Get a rare behind-the-scenes journey through one of the busiest and greenest seaports in the world. Hop aboard a Metrolink train or take in the view from the water on one of many harbor tours throughout the day. Visit dozens of interactive exhibits to learn about environmental programs, security technology and the giant machines that keep the Port humming. Plus, enjoy complimentary food, family friendly entertainment and giveaways.

The Green Port Fest is Saturday, October 2, 2010, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This year, Green Port Fest also will feature the Wyland Living Green Fair, a one-of-a-kind interactive exhibit by the world famous muralist and environmental activist who will be on hand to paint a “super-sized” canvas with the help of families attending Green Port Fest.
