Historic walking tour winds through Rose Park

Sherron Leno, instructor at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, will introduce folks to the character and interest of the historic Rose Park Neighborhood with a walking tour of the area. Leno’s history class moves outdoors for a walking tour of the neighborhood this Saturday.
The class will meet at 9 a.m. at 7th Street and Orizaba. The walking tour lasts until approximately 11 a.m. and ends at the restored Rose Park and gazebo, at 8th Street and Orizaba.
The Historic walking tour takes place along the following route: Orizaba & 7th; South on Orizaba; East on Theresa; South on Obispo; West on 5th; North on Orizaba; West on Theresa; North on Temple; East on 7th; North on Gladys; East on 8th to Rose Park.
All are welcomed to join the walk and return to the park, where at 11 a.m. each Saturday there is a free yoga class.
The walking tour of Rose Park is part of a six-week class that Leno is teaching, Long Beach Historic Districts, Walking Tours. Leno is leading four neighborhood walking tours of Historic Districts in Long Beach, Rose Park is the second neighborhood tour. The final class is a walking tour of Downtown Art Deco Buildings.
