Friends of El Dorado Dog Park host Holiday Bone-AnzaIn an effort to raise funds to build a dog park on the east side of Long Beach, Friends of El Dorado Dog Park (FEDDP) are hosting a fundraiser on Saturday, December 3rd from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm at Good Neighbor Park located at 2800 Studebaker Road. The Holiday Bone-Anza will feature gourmet food trucks, silent auction and raffle prizes, a children’s craft zone, music and shopping.

Proceeds raised will help fund the construction and the maintenance of the dog park which will be located south of Spring Street, adjacent to Long Beach’s Animal Care Center. The popular gourmet food trucks will give 10% of their profits to FEDDP. The organization will also receive contributions from the more than 30 vendors selling crafts and gifts.

“We do not know the exact figures yet but it looks like we’ll need to raise about $100,000,” said Mary Matthiensen, FEDDP President. “This is a lot of money and that’s why we’re counting on the community’s support to help us reach our goal.”

Long Beach has a huge canine population estimated at over 100,000. But even with several parks and a dog beach, there still aren’t enough off-leash areas to provide the running and playing room needed to keep urban dogs healthy and happy. FEDDP is hoping to change that.

FEDDP is a California non-profit 501(C)(3) corporation #27-3623374. All donations made to FEDDP are tax deductible. If you are unable to attend the event, please visit their website at . Visitors can make a donation and keep up with the progress of the park.
