Host Families Needed for Exchange Students from France & Spain
2015-06-15 · By Editor
Teens from France and Spain are eager to spend three weeks this summer with families in the Long Beach area. The students, ages 14-17, want to live the normal everyday life of their host families, speak English and gain a better understanding of American culture. They will be spending weekdays with a tutor, taking English lessons and going on field trips, and will be with their host families on evenings and weekends.
These students are sponsored by Nacel Open Door, a non-profit organization. Nacel Open Door’s mission is to promote international understanding and language education by offering accessible, quality exchange programs with a well-structured support network.
Host families are the heart of the exchange program. The welcome a student as a new member of the family and share their home, lifestyle, and activities. Nacel Open Door welcomes diversity in its host families. Students are matched with families according to their interests and family priorities, and host families receive a $300 stipend for hosting.
The students are accompanied by chaperones that also stay in the area with families and provide an excellent support network. Students bring their own spending money and have medical insurance coverage.
The homestay dates are July 11-August 1, 2015. For more information on the program, please contact Trina Kelly at 562-256-5988, or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
