Howard Petrick’s “Breaking Rank!” Begins Today at The Found Theatre

The Found Theatre is proud to host the exclusive Southern California engagement of Howard Petrick’s award-winning solo show “Breaking Rank!” Fresh from the prestigious, invitation-only New York Solo Festival, Petrick will appear at The Found for three performances only: Friday and Saturday, November 9 and 10, and Sunday, November 11.
An anti-war activist when drafted into the Army in 1966, Petrick continued to speak out against the Vietnam war while carrying out his military duties. Eventually, his anti-war efforts created investigations, journalistic interest, and worldwide reaction as a 19-year-old from Minneapolis became a savvy radical, waging a war to prove that soliders didn’t want to fight in a war they could not understand or support.
Now 67 years old, Petrick did not begin writing or acting until he was in his sixties, but has received universal acclaim for “Breaking Rank!,” in which he portrays 20 different characters. “Breaking Rank!” which Petrick has performed more than 100 times at various theatres and festivals across the US and Canada, most recently won best solo show at the Cincinnati Fringe Festival. What better way to honor Veteran’s Day than with this humorous and hard-hitting tale of one man’s effort to throw a monkey wrench into the war machine?
Howard Petrick’s award-winning solo show “Breaking Rank!” is today, Friday and Saturday, November 9 and 10, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, November 11 at 2:30 p.m. at The Found Theatre, 599 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90802.
Tickets for the show are $15; $10 for veterans and active military.
