Hula Mau Polynesian Festival Returns August 27th

e-hula-mau Polynesian Festival The 16th Annual E Hula Mau Polynesian Festival returns to the Long Beach Terrace Theater and Plaza August 27th through 29th, 2010. The festival celebrates Hawaiian culture and hosts Southern California’s only Hula and Chant Competition. E Hula Mau is a presentation of Na Mamo.

E Hula Mau will feature live performances, arts and crafts, interactive workshops, and traditional Hawaiian cuisine. Hàlau, a Hawaiian dance school, will share their rendition of the hula, music, and cultural chants of Hawaii as they compete throughout the weekend.

E Hula Mau Event Information:

  • Solo Performances – Friday, August 27th at 3:30pm
  • Kahiko, Group and Oli – Saturday, August 28th at 10:00am
  • Mahalo Bash Concert – Saturday, August 28th at 7:30pm
  • Auana Group – Sunday, August 29th at 10:00am

Each cultural workshop offered during the festival will be located at the “Hawaiian Cultural Village” behind the outdoor stage on the plaza in front of the Terrace Theater. Workshops are on a first come, first serve basis, and fees apply to most workshops.

“Long Beach loves hosting this wonderful festival,” said Dan Spellens, Director of Theaters & Entertainment for the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. “Our city is incredibly diverse, and we warmly welcome events that allow everyone to experience new and vibrant cultures. We welcome E Hula Mau back to the Terrace Theater,” he concluded.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday daytime reserved seats are $20.00 and for the Saturday night Mahalo Bash Concert reserved seats are $35.00.

Ocean Boulevard and is open from 10:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday and 12:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday.
