The Long Beach Central Project Area Council, Inc. (LB CPAC) will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, July 10, 2014 on the 11th floor of the Plymouth West residential building at 240 Chestnut Ave., Long Beach, 90802.

The meeting will begin at 6pm on Thursday.

In addition to some annual membership updating tasks, there will be opportunities for members of LB CPAC and the community to briefly address the group about their concerns and issues.

The main portion of the meeting will involve discussions about the upcoming ordinance regarding marijuana stores in Long Beach, the Southern California International Gateway (SCIG) BNSF rail/truck-yard adjacent to West Long Beach and the Civic Center. There are a number of groups, including LB CPAC, that are concerned about these issues – especially the marijuana stores – and look forward to assisting the City in any way to ensure community input.

Everyone in Long Beach is invited to attend. LB CPAC looks forward to seeing a large turnout.

The Long Beach Central Project Area Council, Inc. (LB CPAC) replaces the Central Project Area Committee for Redevelopment which ceased to exist when the Redevelopment Agencies were eliminated by Governor Brown in 2012.

All are welcome to attend the meetings and the group is actively recruiting new members. There are individual, business and community group categories of membership.
