The Junior League of Long Beach, an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers, announces today that it is hosting three “Prospective New Member Mixers” in January. All JLLB winter mixers are free to attend, start at 6:30 p.m., and are held at local Long Beach locations: Thursday, January 13th, the mixer will be held at El Torito (Town Center), located at 7591 Carson Boulevard; Tuesday, January 18th, the mixer will be held at El Torito (Marketplace), located at 6605 E. Pacific Coast Highway; and Wednesday, January 26th, at El Torito (Bixby Knolls/Cal Heights), located at 3301 Atlantic Avenue. To RSVP for any of the three winter mixers, or if there are any questions, please contact Cheli Nye at email@example.com or call 310-713-1595.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for women who are seeking personal growth, new connections, and have the desire to make a positive difference in the community,” said Darlene Baker, 2010-2011 JLLB President. “These women are strongly encouraged to join us for a fun and informative evening, where they will get to know more about the Junior League of Long Beach.”
The JLLB is holding three social opportunities that will provide potential new members a glimpse into the women’s organization, and a chance to make an impact on the Long Beach community. The JLLB is not just a volunteer organization, it is a learning organization–specializing in training that helps develop important skills to be applied in careers and life. Training includes experience in grant writing, marketing and communications, finance, event coordination, fundraising, and more. The JLLB encourages women of all ages to learn about this amazing opportunity, that not only expands your horizons, but creates lifelong friendships.
