Junior League of Long Beach plans summer mixers for prospective members

The Junior League of Long Beach will host three “Prospective New Member Mixers” in July and August to provide potential new members a glimpse into the women’s organization, and a chance to make an impact on the Long Beach community.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for women who are seeking personal growth, new connections, and have the desire to make a positive difference in the community,” said Darlene Baker, 2010-2011 JLLB President. “These women are strongly encouraged to join us for a fun and informative evening, where they will get to know more about the Junior League of Long Beach.”
The Junior League is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the Long Beach community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
The mixers are social opportunities that will introduce prospective members to the Long Beach women that are involved with the JLLB. The Junior League is not just a volunteer organization, it is a learning organization–specializing in training that helps develop important skills to be applied in careers and life. Training includes experience in grant writing, marketing and communications, finance, event coordination, fundraising, and more. The JLLB encourages women of all ages to learn about this amazing opportunity, that not only expands your horizons, but creates lifelong friendships.
The JLLB summer mixers are free to attend and start at 6:30 p.m. The events will take place at three different Long Beach restaurants:
- Thursday, July 22, at El Torito,
located at 3301 Atlantic Avenue
- Tuesday, August 3, at Buster’s Beach House,
located at 166 Marina Drive
- Thursday, August 12th, at George’s Greek Café
downtown Long Beach at 135 Pine Ave
To RSVP for any of the three summer mixers, or if there are any questions, please contact Cheli Nye at email@example.com or call 310-713-1595.
