K9 Corner is the “greenest” dog park in Long Beach
2009-09-24 · By Editor
The K9 Corner dog park open in downtown Long Beach (September 2009) thanks to the hard work of the North Pine Neighborhood Alliance (NPNA), in partnership with the City of Long Beach.
Located at the corner of Pacific Avenue and 9th Street, the K9 Corner dog park is NPNA’s inaugural “pet” project to transform an otherwise unused space in downtown into a fully sustainable, eco-friendly dog park. K9 Corner features park lighting that is powered by solar panels, a sloped irrigation system for its drought tolerant landscape, and faux grass, instead of its water guzzling counterpart.
Founded in 2007, the NPNA represents the residents of Downtown Long Beach bordered by Long Beach Boulevard on the East, Pacific Avenue on the West, 3rd Street on the South and Anaheim Boulevard on the North. The NPNA is focused on creating a metropolitan and sustainable community.
