Kafe Neo Celebrates 5th Anniversary With Greek Block Party

Kafe Neo celebrates a major milestone this month: its 5th year offering a wide range American dining fare (breakfast, lunch & dinner) with a Greek twist. On Sunday, October 21, to mark the milestone, they’re blocking off the parking lot, cooking Lamb on the spit, hosting one of the best Greek bands in the Los Angeles area led by Takis Kokotas and Margarita, offering modern Greek jams by DJ Gus Sverkos (and Kafe owner), along with a dance performance by local Greeks and a beer garden!

Kafe Neo opened its doors in the Bluff Heights area of Long Beach on October 17th, 2007 and stands on the site of what was formerly an auto repair garage owned by Dennis Sverkos. Sverkos worked on MG’s, Fiat’s and Volvo’s for over 35 years in the Carriage Shop. After his retirement, brothers Gus and Pete had the idea of bringing a little piece of their Greek heritage to the neighborhood and envisioned 4th Street as the place to be. Their mother Effe instilled the importance of a home cooked meal and the passion with which she prepared it. That is why Kafe Neo uses only the freshest ingredients and your food is cooked when it is ordered. We designed Kafe Neo as “an American Kitchen with Greek Soul” because we believe good food has no boundaries.

“Getting to this point is a huge celebration for all of us at Kafe Neo,” expresses co-owner Gus Sverkos. “This party is a way to share a little time with our loyal customers and the neighborhood and to give back to our community.”

The Kafe Neo 5th Anniversary Celebration Greek Block Party is Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 2-6pm at Kafe Neo 2800 E. 4th St. Long Beach (@ Temple Ave). Featuring a live band/DJ, dancing, Lamb on the spit and a beer garden this American Kitchen with Greek Soul honors its legacy with its customers & the community.
